The Lost Boys

Graphite & Charcoal on Rising Bristol

About 20+ hours Phew!

Ok, so I'm not terribly happy with this one - first time I just got sick of it & gave up. Mixed with charcoal & graphite together, it probably wasnt the right paper for it - I had charcoal everywhere! Doing tiny faces (less than an inch!) was a learning curve though, just how few lines can you have to use make someone look like the person they are.

Your welcome.

I'm actually going to do a portrait of Jason Patric. I met him at my pub a few times when he was filming and we got a bit merry on the Jamison's whiskey lol.

Ok course you can do whatever you want with it:D Really? - actually this is probably my least favourite - I thought it would be fun to do the tiny faces but it was just plain annoying! the smallest one is about 3cm from the the top of the hair to the chin - erased ALL 4 of those small ones at least 3 times each haha

Lol..drawing isnt supposed to be annoying. too funny. Dont you hate it when you erase like those faces and you re-draw it and the paper is all messed up & rough?

YES! Or you re-draw it and you make exactly the same mistakes? lol

Oh!! Ha ha i just thought of another annoyance of drawing. Your shading a big area right?? And a dark line appears out of nowhere cause its picking up something under your paper! Ahhhh haaa! Now tell me with a straight face this never happened to you...uhhh omg :lmao:

lol THAT happens to me all the tiem because I use a drawing board that only just fits my paper & kind of slopes off on the edges, so whenever I do backgrounds I have to move the paper around near the edge.... do you think I can ever remember to do this?

Ummm does that make sense?

YES!!! Like your pencil falls into the same wrong crevasses...or you erase and a layer of paper folds back. If you look on Laurens shoulder close that happened.. Swearin like a sailor!! See it? Uugghhhh
